Whats it like having a Wedding Elopement in the Whitsundays?

I get asked this question by an increasing amount of couples…”whats it like eloping to get married”? If you are thinking of eloping to a destination in one of the Whitsunday Islands or anywhere in Australia, from my experience photographing wedding elopements it is one of the most empowering and amazing experiences you can have. According to a couple I remember so well, Dayne & Shelly, they wouldn’t have changed a thing. They had three small children so it was the perfect way for them to seal their marriage vowels and have a romantic holiday and honeymoon.

Personally having witnessed many elopements on the Whitsundays, I believe an island wedding elopement is a truly romantic and intimate experience . However, its not for everyone… but for some couples it is the perfect fit… totally beautiful. Take a look at this romantic island wedding photography…

Photographer Jo Hodge is chuffed to see one of my all time favorite couples Cam + Sheree Clarke featured in Australia’s most stylish wedding magazine “Cosmopolitan Bride” in the November Edition of 2011. What an honor it is for a photographer when you see your work featured in such an acclaimed magazine and consequently Sheree’s favourite when she was planning her wedding. Anthony and Nadine asked me to photograph their Whitsunday Island Elopement which was on beautiful Daydream Island. After some interesting weather and an excillerating ferry trip the day before, the weather was picture perfect for their wedding on Friday. With the awesome Corey co-ordinating and escorting us around Daydream in the ‘chariot’ it was such a pleasure to be Nadine and Anthony’s photographer, and share in their wedding day. Nadine has already written me a testimonial before she has even viewed any of her wedding photos, now that is special so I thought I’d put it in, she writes “I just wanted to say a massive thank you for your involvement in our special day, you did a fantastic job and you were so professional yet relaxed the entire day. You really complemented our relaxed style of wedding. You put me at ease the moment I met you and I knew that you would capture what we needed from the day. When I get pregnant, I will be considering bringing you down to Sydney for the shoot. My family are super excited to see the first few photos of the day and silly me didn’t even think to get you to take one photo to show them all on the day”. Craig and Emma asked me to be their wedding photographer for their exquisite destination wedding at the Villa Botanica, Airlie Beach. The Villa Botanica is a wedding venue is completely in a class of its own with its multitude of scenic locations and its unique co-ordinators Christina and Ivor (or Evil as he is affectionately known) the laughs did not stop and every bit of attention was paid to detail. Everyone had a fantastic time, even their very special dogs made an appearance at the wedding and for the photographs.

Emma was such a beautiful, radiant bride and Craig was an equally delightful groom, their wedding was such a priviledge to photograph. Emma’s dress was nothing short of breathtaking, her theming exquisite. With so many awesome images, it was very hard to blog just a sample but here you go guys, just a sample.
