Johnny and Joh were one of the most fantastic couples you could choose to meet. I actually met Joh whilst at the Brisbane Airport, I was at the Virgin terminal sorting out a flight that had taken me to Mackay and then back home again all at once (yep tropical monsoons meant we couldn’t land, we had 3 attempts though and waved goodbye to Mackay and hello again to Brisbane) I always allow an extra days for travel for these incidents, whilst Joh was handling all the irritated customers, I was politely waiting in queue, when it was finally my turn and I told her I was photographing a wedding on Bramtpon Island. She arranged my flights immediately and looked after me. She actually mentioned she & her fiance were thinking of Brampton Island for their wedding, that they were just going to elope one day, she took my card, and as they say the rest is history. Johnny is a musician so was in his element playing with the local talent Matt Zarb on the night of his wedding… Joh even learned to secretly play a song for her husband and this was a moment he will never forget I’m sure.
